Jo Tingle, LMT, is a graduate of the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington D.C. and has maintained a private practice in the Washington metropolitan area for twelve years. Jo facilitates wellness by exploring with her clients the underlying causes of their physical pain and dysfunction such as repetitive motion, postural habits at work, at play and in sleep, and the ergonomics of the work place. Her goal is to help her clients achieve a comfort level in their bodies, thereby improving quality of life and enabling them to engage in the activities they most enjoy. Jo may incorporate several modalities in a massage session including Connective Tissue, Deep Tissue, and Neuromuscular Therapy as well as Swedish Massage, Reiki, and Active Isolated Stretching. Her work is informed by that of Ida Rolf, and of Janet Travel and David Simons whose documentation of trigger points and their referral patterns is an integral part of her approach to bodywork.
